Redoubt Fortress: learning audit

The Redoubt Fortress and Military Museum is part of Eastbourne Borough Council Museum’s Service.

The remit of the learning audit was to review and assess the current level of learning provision and undertake evaluation and analysis to provide recommendations for the development of a learning service.

A SWOT analysis of the current learning provision was carried out with museum staff and volunteers. The SWOT was used as the basis for the identification of the target audiences in the short-term and as an indication of the way forward for the museum. Further one-to-one interviews were undertaken with staff and other people/ organisations the museum has worked with to assess the learning offer and the future potential.

The outcome was a report detailing the areas of the service assessed and a SMART action plan based on the recommendations made.
