World Stories South East was the regional partnership project of Royal Pavilion & Museums, Brighton & Hove’s World Stories Young Voices (part of the Cultural Olympiad’s Stories of the World nationwide program of events). It involved four regional partner museums: Hastings Museum and Art Gallery, Bexhill Museum, SeaCity Museum, Southampton and Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology, Reading University. Each museum worked in partnership with young people to create exhibitions with a unique response to their museum’s world collections.
The young people were supported in the process by the museum staff and a range of creative practitioners including slam poets, digital animators and film makers. Further details of the partnership projects are on the Royal Pavilion & Museums World Stories website.
I worked for Royal Pavilion Museums as the project coordinator for World Stories South East, working with staff at the Museum and the project partners on all aspects of the delivery of the project including the recruitment and assessment of potential projects and then on the marketing, training, budget management and project planning, including a publication.
